About us

Abbeydale Community Association is operated by a volunteer Board of Trustees that own and manage Abbeydale Sports & Community Centre.

The centre provides a highly valued, flexdible and affordable resource for the community and is entirely self funded.

Facilities include:

  • a range of event and meeting rooms that are all fully accessible;
  • catering kitchen and refreshment prepration area.
  • cafe bar to support social and celebration events.
  • an artificial football pitch, sports changing rooms and attractive outside activity areas.

The centre offers activities for all ages from pre school children to senior citizens. There is a diverse mix of arts, sports, music, dance, social, educational, professional and personal development groups operating at the centre on a regular basis.

The facilities also provide a resource for family celebration events, childrens parties and training meetings. There is a cafe bar open to all, whilst outside a sculpture trail and activity spaces offer free access for individuals and groups to enjoy.

We need your help so we can continue to maintain and develop an affordable centre to serve the needs of all users and respond to the emerging needs of all community members.

In particular we have to replace the artificial football pitch carpet that is ten years old and costs are a huge challenge for a self funded organisation.

The ACA is entirely dependent upon room and facility hire charges with no revenue support from elsewhere.

Thank you for your support and good luck!

Yours Sincerely,

Andy Tickner, Chairman of Trustees
